My favorite Pizza in South Lyon. New York style with Quality Cheese. Great sauce, great thin crust, great pepperoni (small ones) worth the extra cost. Hope to see them succeed.

Palomino's reminds me of the sliced pizza you could get as a kid at the roller skating rink. You know, the same concession stand that sold nachos with liquid cheese and Icee drinks? Their pepperoni pizza has a thin crust and is lathered in cheese with tiny pepperoni's that curl up at the edges. It's pretty simple but simple is good. You have the option of adding a kick to your crust with either parmesan or garlic sprinkles which adds a nice element to a plain pizza. I've been to Palomino's a half dozen times for carry out and never experienced any of the other issues others have mentioned about rudeness. There is a large banner next to the Palomino's sign that says, 'Under New Management' so maybe the days of yelling, swearing and nasty notes left on the door are over? I hope so!

While watching my nephews I needed a place that delivered. I called another higher rated pie joint but they didn't deliver. So I went with the next on the list. Ordered a deep dish mushroom sausage, it came with no sausage and the grease made the bottom soggy. For the boys, I ordered breadsticks, which were super greasy but looked fresh, and a pepperoni hand tossed. My nephew described it as hot foot, which meant the pepperoni was the old school small greasy spicy pools, good for adults but not little kids. It was also very light on sauce but heavy on cheese. This was what my nephew described as a foot. The mozzarella had a quality to it that was an odd texture. The cheese wasn't terribly stringy, so it made me wonder if our 50 minute delivery time was the reason.

This review is long overdue: I ordered a pizza several months ago around 4 pm. The guy on the phone said it would be 20 minutes. We are a 15 minute drive. I stopped at the gas station and ran into CVS first before attempting to pick up the pizza. 35 minutes later, I pulled up and there was a hand written note that "Manager will be back in 30 minutes"?! I called the main number and no answer. I then called the other number listed on the Internet that was a cell phone and the owner who was extremely rude told me that "he got sick of waiting around for me after 30 minutes and had things to get done." True story. This was during his business hours and was our first and last experience with him. His attitude was obnoxious and cocky and I have heard similar complaints. With all of the pizzerias that are taken over this town, you'd think the owner would have some business sense.

Previous unsauced chicken wing order aside, this is THE goto spot for takeout pizza in South Lyon. It's the unMichigan style pizza that so many places try to duplicate but fail at. The crust is simple and thin just pure, unadultered dough. We're pretty simple when it comes to our pizza so usually stick with pepperoni and minced garlic for our toppings. The cheese bread is cheesey, buttery, and garlicky...there's not much variation between the doughs so sometimes it just seems like a sauceless pizza. In a perfect take-out night I would probably get pizza from here and breadsticks from the other South Lyon fave, Alekos.

Moved to the area not too long ago and have been looking for a new "local" pizza place having tried the usual chain suspects. We ordered on a chilly Friday night and our pizza and breadsticks were delivered in 40 minutes. The pizza was not greasy, crispy and chewy crust with plenty of toppings. Very good! Palomino's will be our new go-to pizza delivery spot.

Bad pizza and extremely rude employees. The pizza is thin crust and very expensive and nothing special. They'll never get another penny of my money.

This place used to be Originals. Now it has re-opened as Palomino's. I gotta say, I love it! We tried breadsticks, a pepperoni pizza and the barbecue chicken pizza. The breadsticks were soft, garlicky and yummy. The pepperoni pizza has my favorite kind of pepperoni, the kind that curls up into little greasy cups of deliciousness! It was thin and yummy. Then we get to my favorite, the BBQ chicken pizza. It comes with onions but I ordered mine without. The remaining toppings are moist chicken chunks, barbecue sauce, bacon and best part.....smoked Gouda cheese! That's right, you can get smoked Gouda on top of your pizza here! It's my favorite cheese! I was soooo happy! It was by far the best barbecue chicken pizza I have ever had! We will most definitely be back! I am so happy to have a new pizza place to break up the Jets/Hungry Howies rut that we have been in!

This pizza is so good it changed me from a deep dish lover to a thin crust devotee. This is not an ordinary thin, crispy crust. It is a yummy soft, thin crust. There is no shortage of toppings on this pizza, either. I, myself, am a veggie lover and others in my family like pepperoni. Every pizza has been delicious! Delivery is fast and friendly too! I give Palomino's an A+

Their food is pretty good. Pizza is very yummy...however, they never open it seems. It's 11:52AM on a Wednesday and they were supposed to open at 11...yet no one answers the phone and the store is closed. I've called in a few times (Sunday afternoon during football games) and they've never responded to the phone calls. Their answering machine tells you to call another number (which I think is the owner's cell phone), but he doesn't pick up either. This type of unreliability has made me dislike their business. Jet's is just a couple miles away and they're much more reliable. It's sad when you try to support a local business but they're not willing to work for it.

If I'm getting pizza in the South Lyon area, it is going to be from Palomino's, but this could be due to lack of options. I must say recent visits have left a sour taste in my mouth and I had to take a star off of this place. Pros: Pizza is flavorful, thin, fresh ingredients on the margarita pizza. Cons: not very generous on toppings and unreliable delivery. Review- I like their pizza and it is much better than the other take out pizza places in the area. The pizza has a good thin crust, usually cooked well in a hot oven. They really are quite stingy on the toppings. A handful of pepperoni and a few little pieces of garlic really don't justify the value of adding toppings on there. The garlic cheese bread, while very tasty, is just a redundant version of their pizza. I would really like a flakey bread kind of like a cross between a bread stick and pizza. It's essentially pizza with no sauce and extra cheese. Wife was really excited to order some delivery into a brewery for her birthday. They essentially screwed every component of the order up. Didn't put sauce on buffalo wings, no silverware, no plates. When you factor in the delivery fee and tips it ended up being quite the expensive meal that we couldn't enjoy. Normally I would have called and complained, but I wasn't going to do that on my wife's birthday. Instead I sent them a facebook message because they keep up with their page... no response of course. I'm really big on service and when I feel slighted I won't return until the bad taste in my mouth runs out. Many restaurants get me to wave the white flag because their food outweighs the protest. With better pizza places slightly further, and then cheaper options close by, it isn't very hard to neglect them. Palomino

Was hopeful when ordering their deep dish pizza. Unfortunately it was disappointing in appearance and flavor. The bottom of the pizza was soaking wet and some of the pepperoni slices tasted like not cooked. Was not a good choice. The guy was cordial when picking up the pizza so raised rating to 2 stars.

I like this pizza, and am happy with its price. My wife still prefers the thicker crust of Benitos "deep dish," but I'm starting to like this type of pizza more. Liked it enough to get two more Groupons, too. They use the little pepperonis, which is a nice touch. Looking forward to going back again, but can only comment on their standard pepperoni and cheese pizza so far. Edited from 4 stars to 3. This place just can't seem to stay in business with the same management. The new pizza replaced the small pepperoni with the standard ones, and the crust is thicker now. It's not bad, I just don't plan on coming back again. Such a shame.

Just moved to the area and I was worried about finding a halfway decent pizza place in the area that WASNT a chain. After seeing the reviews on yelp and the amazing pictures I decided to give them a try. I fell in love!!! I am a big time pizza critic, and I know how hard it is to find a good place. But I found a GREAT place. I have ordered twice in the past 5 days and I love it. Great service. Great ingredients. Great pizza. I love this place! I had some family over the other night, they all were raving about the pizza!

Definitely one of the better pizza options in south Lyon area. Always fresh and never has pools of grease on top of the pizza like some competitors. If your looking for something more authentic and homemade than the national chain pizza places in the area, palominos has always been a great choice. The last couple of times we ordered delivery, they arrived within the time frame we were told and also very polite.

We've made a point to call only on the weekend or evenings, so I can't tell you if the hours issue has been addressed, but the pizza is ok and it's very convenient to us for pick up. Their sandwiches are better in my opinion. Also, the margherita pizza looked right at first glance, but was liberally sprinkled with fresh garlic. I like garlic, but that's not on an authentic margherita pizza. Make sure to ask for no garlic and you'll be good to go. Crust is on the thinner side, so that's good, but not crisp. Still soggy/foldable.

My wife and kids get pizza here after church a couple times a month. We love it. The owner is almost always there. We get the blt, BBQ chicken, and the works regularly with no problems. Great hot, or cold in the morning.

Really good! Our go to pizza place. We have eaten here more than 60 times, and always have had a good experience.

When they FIRST opened we got pizzas every other week and all of them were really good, it was a few months later we went back again but the last 2 times we got pizza the crust was rubbery vs crispy and everyone in the family asked "What the heck happened?" We were very impressed with them when they opened and will probably try it again as the other in town options get stale at times, hoping it was a fluke and future pizzas from them are good like they were in the beginning.

Excellent pizza, especially for the price. This is generally where we get our pizza locally ...

Being from the East Coast it's hard to find good pizza in Michigan. Palomino's is the closest we found in South Lyon. It's our go-to local spot!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
